Euella Jackson is an award-winning presenter, film-maker and creative producer based in Bristol who works across a range of mediums and spaces to push for more diverse stories and better representation across the cultural and creative sector. She balances this with her day job as Co-Director at Rising Arts Agency, a dynamic, radical, youth-led social enterprise that advocates for underrepresented young creative leaders aged 18 - 30 and pushes care-centred workplace practices across multiple industries.
In 2017, Euella graduated from Bristol University with a first-class honours in Sociology and since then, has worked in the creative industries advocating for work that centres social justice, fun and challenging the status quo as a presenter, content creator, film-maker, facilitator and young leader.
With a youtube channel with over 4,500 subscribers, Euella has casually grown a global audience through her hobby as a sex educator and public speaker and has worked with the likes of the BBC, WWF and BAFTA as a versatile presenter - genuinely engaging audiences online through a range of topics and platforms such as her BBC Radio 4 One to One series on mourning, her BBC digital series about young people tackling climate change called ‘The Audacious’, and regularly creates content around youth culture, life advice and sex and relationships across multiple platforms such as radio, podcasts and video.
In 2018, aged 24, Euella became a trustee of Academy qualifying short film festival, Encounters, where she took on the role of Chair of Trustees towards the end of her term in 2024. In 2020, Euella was appointed a commissioner for the Commission for Race Equality for the City of Bristol where she sat as the chair of the Health and Wellbeing Board. In 2021, she took over the leadership of Rising Arts Agency as Co-Director alongside Jess Bunyan at the age of 27 from founder Kamina Walton. In 2022, she joined the Lankelly Chase Foundation funded Transformational Governance Stewarding Group - a national enquiry supporting organisations across the country to transition from traditional to more transformative and participatory forms of governance.
As a film-maker and storyteller, Euella sees storytelling as part of her activism and has supported a number of projects as a writer / director and producer. Her first short was a Channel 4 Random Acts project called ‘Marked’ which she wrote, starred in and directed, from which her love and confidence as a film-maker began. In 2022, Euella set up a small indie called Fam Films Productions to co-produce BFI Network funded film ‘Hats’, written and directed by Michelle Pascal. That year she also produced a psychological drama short film called ‘What They Left’ that was written and directed by Mevis Birungi and executive produced by Blak Wave Productions. In 2024, Euella was commissioned by Bristol Climate & Nature Partnership to write and direct a short film called Capsule - a heartwarming story that explores the relationship between tackling climate issues and social issues at the same time to create a hopeful future for everyone. She is part of the 2024 Alumni of We Are Parable’s Momentum Programme in partnership with Channel 4 and Sony Pictures.
Euella describes herself as a disruptive storyteller, who doesn’t like the idea of staying in one box. Storytelling is the thread that links all her work, and she will continue to make work that is inspirational, honest, risky and pushes boundaries of what we know to be possible. Forever focussed on legacy, Euella will be stepping down from her role at Rising Arts Agency in 2026, and in the meantime, is exploring what she can do that combines her strengths to fulfil her purpose as an artist, creative and activist.
